Dave Anderson is president and a founding partner at Anderson, Helgen, Davis & Cefalu, concentrating his practice in single employer and Taft-Hartley multi-employer benefit plans, litigation, and business law.

Throughout his more than 30 years in the practice of law, Dave has provided sound advice and counsel to benefit plans, pension plans, boards of trustees, foundations and other tax-exempt organizations, as well as small and mid-size businesses.

Dave is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Minnesota, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, and the U.S. District Court of North Dakota.

He received his B.A., with a minor in German, from the University of Minnesota, and his J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. Dave is a member of the Minnesota State (MSBA), Hennepin County (HCBA), and American Bar (ABA) associations. He previously served on the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section Executive Council, and previously servedĀ on the Employee Benefits, Labor and Employment Law, and Health Law Sections of the MSBA. Dave is also an honorary member of the Minnesota Dental Hygienists Association. He provides pro bono services through the Legal Aid Society and the HCBA LINC program (Leaders Impacting the Nonprofit Community).

Dave has often presented at events sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP), the National Electrical Contractor Association and other professional groups. Dave was Adjunct Professor at William Mitchell College of Law from 1987 to 1993.

Taking an active role in his community, Dave has served as a member of the Minnehaha Academy Board of Education and on various committees since 2008. He has also been active in non-partisan political affairs and has served on the campaign committees for the re-election of two Minnesota Supreme Court Justices, as well as numerous District Court judges in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. Prior to co-founding the firm in 2009, Dave was a partner at another significant Twin Cities law firm.
